MOSCOW, May 17 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and his French counterpart Jacques Chirac discussed international affairs Wednesday, including the Middle East peace process, the Kremlin press service said.
"Both sides emphasized the importance of coordinating the international community's efforts to provide humanitarian, financial and political assistance to the normalization of the situation and progress in the Middle East peace process," the press service said in a statement.
The presidents also exchanged opinions on preparations for the Group of Eight summit in St. Petersburg in July, the press service said.
