TBILISI, May 22 (RIA Novosti) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development plans to increase annual investment in Georgia from 85 mln to 150 mln euros, the bank's president said Monday.
Jean Lemierre said after a meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli that the EBRD would also help Georgia modernize its energy infrastructure, including the reconstruction of the Inguri hydroelectric power plant and the North-South natural gas pipeline.
As of March 2006, the EBRD had financed 50 projects worth 323.4 million euros in Georgia.
