MOSCOW, May 23 (RIA Novosti) - NATO will help Ukraine to scrap its obsolete weapons and ammunition, a Ukrainian General Staff officer said Tuesday.
Major General Leonid Golopatyuk, who oversees the country's military cooperation with NATO, said a total of 135 million small arms, 1,000 portable anti-aircraft missile launchers, and 133,000 tons of ammunition would be scrapped under a NATO-funded program starting early June.
