MOSCOW, May 24 (RIA Novosti) - Russian production of natural gas increased by 1.8% in the first quarter of 2006 year on year, to 229.6 billion cu m, the Russian industry and energy ministry said Wednesday.
The ministry said natural gas monopoly Gazprom produced 192 billion cu m, or 84% of the total volume.
Domestic consumers received 168.9 billion cu m in the reporting period, with 60.49 billion cu m being exported, or 8% higher than last year.
