MOSCOW, May 24 (RIA Novosti) - The finance minister said Wednesday he saw no fundamental causes for downturns on the Russian stock market.
On Monday, MICEX suspended trading for one hour after falling more than 8.5% in one day. However, the bourse showed signs of a rebound on Tuesday.
"There are no fundamental causes for changes in the Russian stock market," Alexei Kudrin said in a lecture to the Higher School of Economics.
"Something must have happened with the sale of some key stocks," the minister said.
"So my advice to you is: when the market falls without any fundamental reasons, it's time to buy stocks," Kudrin said.
