GROZNY, May 31 (RIA Novosti) - Chechnya's prime minister said Wednesday the militant gang killed in the neighboring republic of Ingushetia had returned from Turkey.
Ramzan Kadyrov said gangs had become proactive in other North Caucasus regions "as they have nowhere to hide in Chechnya."
Three militants, including a warlord by the name of Khaikhoroyev, were killed and one hostage was freed in an operation in Ingushetia Wednesday.
One policeman was killed and three wounded after law enforcers surrounded a house in which militants had taken a man hostage. The militants later blew up the basement in which they were holed up.
