TBILISI, June 2 (RIA Novosti) - The World Bank has allocated a $3.5 million loan and a $3.5 million grant for measures to combat bird flu in Georgia, the WB office in the South Caucasus country said Friday.
The Georgian project on combating bird flu covers three aspects - the health of birds, the health of people and information measures - costing $5.2 million, $4.3 million and $0.9 million.
Georgia joined the World Bank in 1993. The bank has already invested $816 million in 40 Georgian projects.
