Women's singles:

- Svetlana Kuznetsova, seeded No. 8, advanced to the semifinals by defeating compatriot Dinara Safina (14) 7-6, 6-0, after coming back from 1-5 down in the first set

Women's doubles:

- Yelena Vesnina and Anna Chakvetadze advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating No. 11 Maria Kirilenko and Gisela Dulko (Argentina) 6-3, 6-4
