MOSCOW, June 22 (RIA Novosti) - Gazpromavia, Russian energy giant Gazprom's airline, said Thursday it had signed a deal with France-based helicopter manufacturer Eurocopter to create a technical servicing center for helicopters near Moscow.
The center at Ostafievo Airport, one of two airports owned by Gazpromavia, will receive a certificate from Eurocopter authorizing it to service the French firm's helicopters in Russia.
Gazpromavia is the general air carrier for Gazprom and its subsidiaries, and specializes in business and cargo aviation.
Eurocopter, a subsidiary of the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS), accounts for 52% of the global helicopter market. There are currently 36 of the company's helicopters in use in Russia.
