MOSCOW, June 24 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's foreign minister has highlighted RIA Novosti's role in providing information support for the country's foreign policy and shaping its objective image abroad, the ministry press service said Saturday
Sergei Lavrov sent a message of congratulations on the agency's 65th anniversary.
"Throughout these decades, the news agency has asserted itself as a major, influential and credible source of political information in the world," he said.
He said that despite the changes that had occurred, RIA Novosti had preserved its professional niche and stayed loyal to its motto: "Information for the benefit of peace and friendship between nations."
"We value the agency as a loyal and reliable partner providing essential information support for Russia's foreign policy," Lavrov said.
