MOSCOW, June 27 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's foreign minister said Tuesday that the ministry would provide aid to the families of four diplomats killed by Islamic extremists in Iraq.
"Our diplomats have fallen victim to rampant terrorism in Iraq," Sergei Lavrov told a conference at the ministry. "The Russian Foreign Ministry will do its best to help the families of the killed diplomats."
The conference of Russian ambassadors and representatives of international organizations in the Foreign Ministry began with a minute of silence in memory of the diplomats, who were beheaded by a group linked to al-Qaeda.
