MOSCOW, June 27 (RIA Novosti) - Sberbank's net profits in January-May 2006 grew 43% on the same period of 2005, to 37.066 billion rubles (about $1.4 bln), the bank said Tuesday in a report posted on its Web site.
Sberbank's balance sheet profits for the first five months of 2006 have risen 46% to 44.717 billion rubles ($1.65 bln).
Sberbank is Russia's largest bank. The Central Bank controls 60.57% of Sberbank. As of May 2006, the bank's equity capital was 309 bln rubles.
