MOSCOW, June 29 (RIA Novosti) - Gazprombank, a subsidiary of Russian natural gas giant Gazprom, said Thursday its pre-tax profit had increased more than 200% year on year in the first five months of 2006, to 11.8 billion rubles (about $437 million).
Gazprombank, Russia's third largest bank in terms of assets, said its assets had grown 10% in the reporting period to 480.7 billion rubles (about $17.8 billion) as of June 1, 2006.
The bank's shareholder equity grew 20% in January-May 2006, year on year, to 52.6 billion rubles (about $1.9 billion).
Loans to customers rose 8% to 310.7 billion rubles (about $11.5 billion). The value of corporate deposits went up 7% to 219.9 billion rubles (about $8.1 billion), while the value of individuals' deposit accounts grew 50% to 14.3 billion rubles (about $529 million).
