Gas and electricity tariffs have already been raised 25% May 1.
Experts say the price hikes will have little effect on the budget of an average Ukrainian family that will have to pay five hryvnias ($1) more for gas than before.
Under an agreement that Russia and Ukraine signed on January 4, Ukraine is importing a mixture of Russia's and Turkmenistan's natural gas for a price of $95 per 1,000 cubic meters. The price formula is based on the price of $230 for Russian natural gas and $60 for Central Asian.
Turkmenistan, however, said Friday it planned to raise gas price for Ukraine and Russia to $100 per 1,000 cu m.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuriy Yekhanurov reacted by promising to Ukrainian consumers that gas would continue to be imported for $95 in the next quarter.
