BRUSSELS, July 5 (RIA Novosti) - The EU's foreign policy supremo said Wednesday he would meet with Iran's top nuclear negotiator in Brussels July 6, a day after the meeting was planned.
Javier Solana said a second meeting with Ali Larijani was slated for July 11.
He said he was surprised with Larijani's decision to postpone the meeting scheduled for Wednesday.
Solana and Larijani are expected to discuss a package of incentives drafted by five permanent UN Security Council members and Germany in a bid to persuade Iran to suspend work on enriching uranium, which the countries fear could be used in weapons production. Tehran though insists in needs nuclear fuel for generating electricity.
Solana said he wanted to start discussing these proposals as soon as possible.
