"According to one of the versions, a fire broke out inside the airbus when the plane landed," a ministry representative said. "According to another version, the landing gear caught fire during landing."
The ministry said all the survivors were in the plane's tail section. Earlier it said 54 people had been rescued.
Russian Transportation Minister Igor Levitin, who has been appointed the head of the government commission to investigate the air crash, said the plane after landing overshot the runway, which was wet after the rain.
"The plane overshot the runway. It had rained and the runway was wet," Levitin told the Vesti news channel.
According to the ministry, the rescuers recovered 102 bodies and more than 50 people had been hospitalized.
