STRELNA, July 17 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's president and India's prime minister held bilateral talks focusing on economic cooperation on the sidelines of the Group of Eight Summit, concluded Monday near St. Petersburg, a Kremlin spokesman said.
Alexei Gromov said Vladimir Putin and Manmohan Singh addressed specific plans to develop cooperation between the two countries, and agreed to hold a business forum before the end of the year.
The leaders also discussed coordination of efforts in international organizations.
Manmohan Singh also invited Vladimir Putin to visit India in January 2007.
Earlier this year, Russia and India, which are traditional military partners, agreed to triple trade to $10 billion a year in five years' time.
Russia and India are included in BRIC, a term used by investment companies to refer to Brazil, Russia, India, and China, seen as the world's largest rapidly developing countries.
