KIEV, July 24 (RIA Novosti) - A rally organized by the all-Ukrainian Jewish Congress took place Monday in Ukraine's capital in support of Israel's anti-terrorism operation in Lebanon.
More than 10,000 people marched under the slogan "Ukraine against Terror" to back Israel's military action against Lebanon-based radical group Hizbollah.
More than 350 people are thought to have died in Lebanon since Israel launched a military operation in early July after Hizbollah captured two Israeli servicemen in a cross-border raid. Another 600,000 people have fled the fighting. Over 35 Israelis have also lost their lives.
Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Naomi Ben-Ami thanked Ukrainians for support and said Tel Aviv would fight terrorism until it was eradicated. She said yielding to terrorists would mean jeopardizing life on the Earth.
