MOSCOW, July 27 (RIA Novosti) -Unified Energy System [RTS: EESR] hopes to raise $4-6.7 billion during an initial public offering of generating companies, the chief executive of the Russian electricity giant said Thursday.
Anatoly Chubais told journalists that five generating companies would hold an IPO in November 2006-July 2007.
"We have not taken the position that all the IPOs should be [carried out] through London," Chubais said.
He said the IPO would partly be held on Russian exchanges, adding that WGC-5 (Wholesale Generating Company) could hold an IPO on the Russian Trading System.
