MOSCOW, July 30 (RIA Novosti) - A special commission started an investigation on the site of a Su-24M bomber crash in western Russia, the press office of the Russian Navy said Sunday.
A Su-24M Fence tactical bomber of the Baltic Fleet fell into a forest 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) to the south-west of Russia's westernmost city of Kaliningrad, the press office said.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov who attended a parade in Baltiisk, the main base of Russia's Baltic Fleet, to mark Navy Day, said he had ordered an investigation into the accident.
Ivanov confirmed the plane crash had killed both crewmembers.
Last time, a Su-24M plane crashed on March 15, 2006 in the Voronezh Region in central Russia. Both pilots managed to catapult.
