MOSCOW, May 31 (RIA Novosti) - MegaFon (RTS: MEGF) has secured a $274-million credit agreement with Citibank and ING Bank to purchase Nokia equipment, Russia's third largest cellphone operator said Monday.
The company said the loan matures in 2011, with 4.3% annual interest.
The company posted Monday a US GAAP net profit of $132.1 million for the first quarter of 2006, up 74% year-on-year.
MegaFon was established in 2002 with a charter capital of $2.2 million. Its shareholders are the Finnish-Swedish TeliaSonera (35.6%), Telecominvest (31.3%), CT-Mobile (25.1%), IPOC International Growth Fund Ltd. (8%) and West Link Ltd. (1.5%).
