MOSCOW, August 14 (RIA Novosti) - A federal agency for the export of information technologies will be created by year's end, the information technologies minister said Monday.
Leonid Reiman said the agency will aim to analyze export opportunities for Russian information technologies and products, promote them on foreign markets, and introduce international IT standards to Russia.
He said the agency would have a staff of 50-70, but that it was not yet clear who would head it.
Reiman also said the Federal Agency for Information Technologies would be renamed the Federal Agency for Information Systems in an effort to place a greater emphasis on building information systems in executive branch agencies, and to secure their integration.
