The Federal Antimonopoly Service and representatives of the Federal Energy Agency, Transneft, Ministry of Industry and Energy and Ministry of Economic Development and Trade held a session last week to discuss oil export schemes.
"We are considering relieving federal executive bodies of excessive functions," the ministry said. "We are discussing the possibility of handing these functions over to Transneft, while the energy agency would perform information-related and analytical functions."
"At the moment, Russian crude producers have access to international markets strictly in accordance with acting legislation and agreements concluded between Transneft and oil companies," the ministry said.
Findings on the matter by a working group will be discussed at the Federal Antimonopoly Service's next session in early September.
