ISLAMABAD, August 15 (RIA Novosti) - Pakistan's rescue teams are searching for four Russian mountaineers who went missing several days ago while climbing K2, the world's second highest mountain, an official of a Pakistani company that had helped organize the expedition said Tuesday.
Naiknam Karim, a spokesman for Adventure Tours Pakistan, said a mountain guide reported four Russian climbers missing two days ago, and asked for a rescue helicopter to be sent as soon as possible. However, helicopters were grounded at the time due to bad weather conditions.
The spokesman said the Russian climbers were well-prepared, and could still be found alive.
