MOSCOW, August 15 (RIA Novosti) - Gazprom Neft (RTS: SIBN), formerly Sibneft, said Tuesday its earnings calculated to Russian Accounting Standards had increased 70% year-on-year in the first half of 2006 to 190.3 billion rubles ($7.1 billion).
The company, a subsidiary of Russian energy giant Gazprom, posted net profit at 30 billion rubles ($1.1 billion), a 41% rise against the first six months last year. Its gross profit gained 20% to 60.8 billion rubles ($2.3 billion).
The company's return on equity was 62.2% against 22.1% in January-June 2005.
