MOSCOW, August 16 (RIA Novosti) - Russia will push for the earliest possible resumption of the Palestinian-Israeli peace talks, the country's Foreign Ministry spokesman said Wednesday.
"Russia calls for the earliest possible resumption of the Palestinian-Israeli dialog," Mikhail Kamynin said. "We believe the [negotiating] parties to demonstrate their will for the constructive settlement of all issues."
Kamynin said Russia would continue contacts with the parties to the conflict, the Quartet of mediators (Russia, the EU, U.S. and UN) and leaders of the Arab League to step up efforts toward settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict as part of the Middle East settlement.
"The [stalled] Palestinian problem does not allow for the settlement of the long-standing crisis situations in the region and generates new ones," he said
