MOSCOW, August 17 (RIA Novosti) - The aggregate wage arrears in Russia was 5.2 billion rubles ($194.2 million) August 1, down 4.4%, or 237 million rubles ($8.9 million), month-on-month, the statistics service said Thursday.
Wage arrears for lack of funds was 4.5 billion rubles ($168.03 million) August 1, down 2.9% month-on-month. Lack of budget financing accounted for 249 million rubles ($9.3 million) worth of arrears, down 26.1% in July.
The statistics service said 20% of wage arrears was part of the outstanding debt for 2005, while 14.8% was part of the debt for 2004 and earlier.
