MOSCOW, August 20 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Defense Ministry denied Sunday Georgia's reports that Russian aircraft had allegedly violated its air border.
The Georgian Defense Ministry alleged Saturday that two Russian combat helicopters had violated the republic's air space in the Zugdidi district.
"Russian aircraft did not perform any flights in the Zugdidi district [near the Russian-Georgian border Saturday]," Russian Air Force spokesman Alexander Drobyshevsky said.
Drobyshevsky also said Russian Air Force Commander, Army General Vladimir Mikhail had restricted by his order the flights of aircraft and helicopters due to the celebrations of Air Force and Air Fleet Day on August 18, 19 and 20.
