MOSCOW, August 21 (RIA Novosti) - Nearly 30 children have been hospitalized in the southern Russian town of Arzamas with suspected food poisoning, a police source said Monday.
"Between August 17 and 18, 29 children, aged two to six, and two teachers were taken from a kindergarten to the infectious diseases ward of the city's central hospital with symptoms of food poisoning," a source said. He said they were currently in a satisfactory condition.
The cause of the illness is being identified, and prosecutors are looking into possible violations of sanitary rules at the kindergarten.
