KIEV, August 24 (RIA Novosti) - Relatives of those killed in a Russian airliner crash have visited the site of the tragedy, Ukrainian television said Thursday.
At least 170 people were killed, including 45 children, when a three-engine Tu-154 jet came down en route from a Black Sea resort to St. Petersburg in stormy weather 30 miles north of the regional center of Donetsk Tuesday.
"Relatives of the victims have seen the Tu-154 crash site," the source said. "People saw the place from a special area near a rescuers' tent, but some of the relatives tried to get through to the debris of the plane."
The media said flowers, photographs and toys were laid at a memorial set up at the site earlier Thursday.
"Flowers were arranged into a cross," the television said.
