SOCHI, August 26 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian president said Saturday he planned to discuss the country's regional energy balance with the cabinet.
"We have agreed with the government to hold a meeting to discuss energy balance," Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with Kaliningrad Governor Georgy Boos. "As for the Kaliningrad Region, it needs special consideration, due to its specifics."
The governor briefed the president on the energy situation in the region, saying there was still a shortage of energy in some areas.
Putin said it was important to diversify and balance energy sources.
