KIEV, August 29 (RIA Novosti) - Ukraine has spent nearly $400,000 dealing with the crash of a Russian plane in the Donetsk Region, the regional governor said Tuesday.
At least 170 people were killed, including 45 children, last Tuesday when a Tu-154 jet en route from a Black Sea resort to St. Petersburg came down in stormy weather 30 miles north of the regional center of Donetsk.
Volodymyr Lohvinenko said the sum includes expenses for the accommodation of relatives of the crash victims, car and burial services, as well as the expenses of the Ukrainian Emergency Situations Ministry and Interior Ministry.
"The Emergency Situations Ministry is a budgeted organization, and these expenses were not planned. I cannot say if a decision will be made to compensate these expenses," he said.
He added that a monument incorporating the plane's fragments would be unveiled at the crash site.
