MOSCOW, August 31 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Federal Anti-Monopoly Service Thursday took action against Japanese carmaker Nissan for violating competition laws.
The FAS said it had received an appeal from insurance companies directing the service's attention to an agreement between official Nissan dealers setting fixed costs for the technical maintenance of their cars.
FAS deputy chief Andrei Kashevarov said Wednesday this move harmed auto insurers.
"All additional technical maintenance costs will be passed on to insurers," he said. "Insurance companies will then start raising auto liability insurance tariffs."
