On August 3, the Our Ukraine faction in the Ukrainian parliament decided to join a "grand coalition" comprised of the Party of Regions, the Socialist Party and the Communist Party. At the same time, some of Our Ukraine's members decided to move to the opposition.
"A meeting of the Political Council decided to initiate the signing of a new coalition agreement with the Party of Regions to be based on compliance with the National Unity Accord," the press service said.
It said a steering group was set up to negotiate with the Party of Regions and complete the drafting of a new coalition agreement within two weeks.
"Depending on whether Our Ukraine will sign a [new] coalition agreement, a decision will be made as to whether Our Ukraine will have any ministers in the Viktor Yanukovich government," it said.
