GROZNY, September 3 (RIA Novosti) - A policeman was wounded in a blast in the Republic of Chechnya in Russia' troubled North Caucasus region, the local interior ministry said Sunday.
During a search operation in the southern Vedeno district, an unidentified explosive device went off in a forest at about 06:00 a.m. Moscow time (02:00 a.m. GMT), injuring the policeman, the ministry said.
The policeman has been hospitalized. An investigation is under way, the ministry said.
