MOSCOW, September 4 (RIA Novosti) -- Pyaterochka Holding N.V. (LSE: FIVE) said Monday its net profit dropped 8.7% in the first six months of 2006, to $62 mln.
Pyaterochka is Russia's largest supermarket chain, with more than 370 outlets in Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Urals city of Yekaterinburg. In mid-May, it finalized a merger deal with Perekryostok, which operates 147 supermarkets and discounters across 14 Russian regions and Ukraine.
Pyaterochka's net profit in the reporting period was $43.8 mln, as compared with $47.3 mln in the period of 2005.
Perekryostok's net profit in the reporting period declined to $18.3 mln from $20.7 mln, year-on-year.
