MOSCOW, September 4 (RIA Novosti) - The presidents of Gazprom [RTS:GAZP] and a Russian-Greek joint venture have discussed the outlook for Russian natural gas supplies to Greece, the Russian energy giant said Monday.
The discussion took place as part of President Vladimir Putin's working visit to Greece.
Putin is currently in Athens, where he arrived to meet with leaders of Greece and Bulgaria to discuss economic relations, and in particular, an ambitious oil pipeline project.
"The parties have discussed Russian-Greek cooperation in the natural gas sector," the company said in a news release. "They also discussed prospects for increasing Russian natural gas supplies to Greece, as well as opening new routes for gas transportation to southeast Europe."
