MOSCOW, September 14 (RIA Novosti) - A medium-class Soyuz-U carrier rocket has put a Cosmos satellite into orbit after being launched from the Baikonur space center in Kazakhstan Thursday, a spokesman for Russia's Space Forces said.
Alexei Kuznetsov said the satellite would enlarge the orbital military group.
He said the satellite had been put into orbit at 5:39 p.m. Moscow time [1:39 p.m. GMT] adding that all "systems were functioning properly."
