SOCHI, September 14 (RIA Novosti) - Gazprom [RTS: GAZP] has pumped 62.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas into its depositories in preparation for the coming winter, the Russian energy giant's head said Thursday.
"This volume will allow [Gazprom] to provide the country's population with gas and heat during the winter of 2006-2007, and to survive any severe weather conditions if the winter is as cold as it was last year," Alexei Miller told President Vladimir Putin.
He also said Gazprom was planning to allocate 35 billion rubles ($1.3 billion) on its gasification program over the next three years.
