MOSCOW, October 1 (RIA Novosti) - One person has died in a fire that engulfed an eight-storey residential building in north Moscow earlier Sunday, the capital's firefighters said.
The fire broke out on the top floor of a building on Leningradsky Shosse, and spread to the rest of the building.
"The body was found in an apartment completely destroyed by the fire," a spokesman said, adding that the victim has yet to be identified.
Firefighters have evacuated all residents and put out the fire, he said.
Firefighters had previously feared the fire could cause a natural gas explosion.
