PETROZAVODSK, October 6 (RIA Novosti) - A fire broke out in a building owned by Caucasus natives in the northern Russian city of Kondopoga, the Emergency Situations Ministry said Friday.

The fire broke out on the premises of a timber enterprise in a village not far from Kondopoga, a town that last month was the scene of violent confrontations between locals and Caucasus natives.

The ministry said there were no casualties, but declined to disclose the cause of the fire, saying it would take at least 10 days to complete the investigation.

The same enterprise was set ablaze in an earlier riot, as well, which followed the deaths of two Russians killed August 31 in a clash at a Chechen-owned restaurant. The next day, a mob of local residents rioted, setting fires and calling for the immediate deportation of all Caucasus nationals.
