MOSCOW, October 6 (RIA Novosti) - The output of Russian technological parks will be 20 billion rubles ($749 million) in 2008, but will reach 117.5 billion rubles ($4.4 billion) by 2011, Russia's information technology and communications minister said Friday.
The Russian government approved in March a program to create technoparks, which will incorporate high-tech enterprises in such sectors as nano-, bio-, information and other kinds of technology, as well as science research organizations, educational institutions providing staff for such enterprises and other related ventures.
Leonid Reiman said such technoparks will be established in seven regions throughout Russia and will employ 19,000 people by 2008 and 75,000 by 2011. Investment in the seven technoparks will amount to 26.3 billion rubles ($985 million).
