MOSCOW, October 15 (RIA Novosti) - Six cadets were killed and 19 injured in a traffic accident in central Russia, the Russian Defense Ministry said Sunday.
A VAZ-2105 car drove into a convoy carrying some 200 cadets of the Ryazan airborne school Saturday night.
"The car, which collided with the convoy, carried six passengers and all of them were drunk, including the driver," Colonel Vyacheslav Sedov, a Defense Ministry spokesman, said. "All of them have been detained."
He said two of the cadets hospitalized after the accident were in a critical condition.
Sedov said a commission of the Defense Ministry, headed by Lieutenant-General Nikolai Ignatov, the first deputy commander of Russia's airborne troops, had set off for the site of the accident.
