MOSCOW, October 18 (RIA Novosti) - Inflation in Russia dropped 0.1%, year-on-year, to 0.2% in the first 16 days of October, and is expected at 9% by the end of 2006, Central Bank Chairman Sergei Ignatyev said Wednesday.
"It might be lower than that if we are really lucky," he said.
An earlier Central Bank forecast put the year-end inflation rate at 8.5%.
The bank's first deputy chair, Alexei Ulyukayev, said Monday that inflation in the first 10 months of the year will total 7.5%
