VLADIVOSTOK, October 19 (RIA Novosti) - A mayoral candidate was fatally wounded early Thursday in an attack in Russia's Far East, the Primorye Territory electoral commission said.
Dmitry Fotyanov, a member of United Russia, a party loyal to the Kremlin, was shot while leaving his office in Dalnegorsk, a town seven time zones east of Moscow.
The candidate, who had been preparing for a runoff slated for October 22, died later in hospital.
