MOSCOW, October 23 (RIA Novosti) - The Moscow City Court will hold hearings on two terrorist bombings that hit the capital's subway in February and August 2004, a spokeswoman for the court said Monday.

On February 6, 2004 suicide bombers set off explosive devices on a train between Avtozavodskaya and Paveletskaya metro stations, killing 42 people and wounding 250. On August 31, 2004, a female terrorist set off a bomb at the entrance to Rizhskaya metro station, killing 10 and wounding 30.

"Preliminary hearings on the case are scheduled for October 24," Anna Usachyova said, adding that the hearings will be held behind closed doors because of classified information being used in the case.

The defendants - Murat Shavayev, Tambiy Khubiyev and Maxim Ponarin - face charges of terrorism, murder, illegal production of explosive devices, carrying concealed weapons, and crimes.
