MOSCOW, October 25 (RIA Novosti) - More than 1.8 million questions from the public have so far been submitted for the Russian president's annual televised question-and-answer session, to be held Wednesday, organizers said.
The session, Vladimir Putin's fifth since he assumed office in March 2000, will begin at 12:00 Moscow time (8:00 a.m. GMT), and will be broadcast by major national television channels and radio stations.
Questions will be received up to the end of the broadcast, both via the Internet (Web site www.president-line.ru) and by phone. Questioners can call toll free on 8-800-200-4040 from within Russia, and on 7 (495) 645-1010 from abroad. Questions can also be sent by text message from within Russia to 0-40-40.
After last year's session, President Putin told reporters he considers Q&A sessions to be a good way for a head of state to find out what the public's concerns are.
