NALCHIK, November 5 (RIA Novosti) - Police have found a large cache full of arms and ammunition in the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria in Russia's troubled North Caucasus region, the local law-enforcement bodies said Sunday.
The police found the cache near the village of Kenzhe near the republic's capital of Nalchik, the law-enforcement bodies said.
The cache contained three Shmel flamethrowers, five grenade launchers with six rounds and powder charges, explosives and other ammunition, the law-enforcement bodies said.
Since the beginning of 2006, the republic's law-enforcement bodies have seized ten grenade launchers, one machine gun, 19 automatic rifles, 20 pistols and revolvers, more than 20,000 pieces of ammunition, 220 grenades, over 22 kilograms of explosives and 150 TNT blocks, the local interior ministry said.
