TEHRAN, November 5 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's railroad monopoly Russian Railways (RZD) will buy a blocking interest in Transmashholding to control the enterprise's price policy, the RZD president said Sunday.
Vladimir Yakunin, who is heading a Russian delegation of railway operators in Iran, said a final decision would be made after RZD completed all necessary procedures.
"We have a long-term cooperation agreement on the production of locomotives. We believe it would be in the company's interests to acquire a blocking package in Transmashholding to have the possibility to control the prices of the rolling stock, which we purchase," Yakunin said.
Transmashholding unites railway engineering enterprises that produce diesel and electric locomotives, freight and passenger cars.
