KIEV, November 9 (RIA Novosti) - Ukraine's defense minister has launched an attack on the country's prosecutor general over his failure to control corruption in the country, and called for his immediate dismissal, the ministry's press service said Thursday.
Anatoliy Hrytsenko said the Prosecutor General's Office has deliberately dragged out case investigations, failed to consider cases submitted by the Defense Ministry, and has failed to launch necessary criminal proceedings.
The minister said Prosecutor General Oleksandr Medvedko's dismissal would help fight corruption in the country, and "allow thousands of highly qualified investigators to perform their duties."
